Do you love food? Do you want to end hunger? If yes to both, give yourselves a reason to celebrate good food and the movement to eradicate hunger by joining the annual Love Food Fest in Toronto on Thursday Oct. 15 from 6pm to 9:30pm at The Gallery (99 Sudbury Steet, Toronto). By coming out to the event, you’ll not only help raise money, support, and awareness about global malnutrition, but you’ll also get to eat unlimited amounts of some of the best dishes by some of the top Chefs and restaurants in Toronto. Over a dozen Chefs will each prepare a dish inspired by the cuisine from one of the more than 45 countries in which Action Against Hunger works for. In addition to unlimited food, there will be eight craft breweries and wineries on site to provide unlimited drinks!

The fest is in proud support of the Love Food Give Food campaign, which is implemented by Action Against Hunger/ Action contre Faim (ACF), a leading international humanitarian organization that focuses on ending child hunger. The campaign will run through the whole month of October to encourage Canadians to take actions against hunger. The Love Food Fest is just one initiative among many others that you can join to help raise funds for ACF.
You can dine at participating restaurants to help raise funds. Throughout October, specially marked restaurants in Toronto will have menu items that, when you order it, $1 will be donated to the cause. All partner restaurants have huge passions for ending hunger.
“Restaurants get approached a lot for donations, and for me, because I make my living in the restaurant business, hunger issues have always been very near and dear to my heart. I have a friend who works for the United Nations in New York, and I checked with her, and she said that [Action Against Hunger] is an incredible organisation that feeds people who need to be fed, and as a business owner it’s very important to me to give back,” says Zane Caplansky, a restaurant owner.
You can also raise money at work, in your community, at home, at school, or through other networks. If you love to cook, why not host your own lunch/brunch/dinner party fundraiser.
